Mechanisms for manipulating hook-lift containers

Various types of dump trucks with replaceable bodies, called lifts carrying up to 20 tons and above, with a capacity of bodies up to 55 m 3 are widely used for transportation of various cargoes (household waste, construction waste, bulky waste, industrial waste) across all Europe.

These machines are equipped with a mechanical rope, the hook or chain tipper skips. Machine trucks with replaceable bodies unload as conventional tippers body back. Use of roller (dump) containers makes it possible to increase the operating factor of these machines.

Here are several examples:
The Finnish company "Hiab-Foco" manufactures trucks, equipped with chain tipping body structure. These dump trucks are designed for transportation heavy demountable different dimensions. The company produces, in addition, the machine equipped with the hook and rope tipping body structure. The machines are designed for transportation removable containers in lengths from 3.5 to 7 m and up to 40 m 3. Useful load of the container can reach 19 tons.

The company "Gergen" (Germany) for the transportation of long removable waste containers manufactures trucks, equipped with rope tipper bodywork. Such dumpers of type loader provide small angle of removable roller of the container (body) for loading and unloading, as well as the unloading of containers in areas with fairly low ceilings. These loaders have large specific capacity and stability, providing transportation of large oversized containers.

Disadvantages: deterioration of metal traction cables and the need for manual labor for their reeving during loading of removable containers. To avoid these drawbacks, the company "NCH" (Germany) makes front-side guide rollers of removable containers, providing easy engagement of the wire rope.

Firm "Atlas-Weyhausen" (Germany) has developed and manufactures trucks that are equipped with the hook tipping body structure. All models of dump trucks have a blocking device of mechanical action, with the trigger brakes and valves of freewheel. Rope and hook tipper body structure provide lifting of removable containers on relatively flat surface.

The German company "Feka" uses special additional hooks, which are mounted on the vertical downhill skiing of the bottom frame of removable container.

One of the latest models of trucks with the tipper body structure (company "Hiab-Foco") is equipped with a hydraulic lifting hook system. Own weight of machine is 1.6 tons; its capacity is from 0.4 to 0.5 tons. Tipper has a certain altitude of gabarit that allows you to transport higher removable containers. With a help of an additional device, blocking front and back tipping frame, the machine has a high resistance to rollover. This is especially important while transporting the old replaceable containers. Mechanical interlock between the back and additional frames guarantees truck’s stability during loading and unloading on uneven ground. In addition, the machine is equipped with an electromagnetic control system that has no moving structural elements, as well as electrical safety device with a rigid non-contact switching. Soft setting of the roller container on the frame of the truck is guaranteed by automatically reducing the pressure in the lift cylinder while lowering tilting frame of multilift. The automatic reduction of the pressure in the hydraulic system also occurs while telescoping an inclined cylinder, so as the result - all removable containers are protected from damage during locking, and in addition the load on the lifting cylinder, cargo and hydraulic motor frame reduces to a minimum.

Company "Feka" produces trucks with replaceable containers equipped with winch block, as well as higher bit and automatic lock. Provide triple lock removable containers: they are fixed to the tilting frame of multilift in horizontal and vertical directions, and special mechanical locking device prevents easing of winch lifting ropes while driving.

The company "Georg" (Germany) manufactures based on four-axle vehicle a hook hydraulic tipper body type Hakenlift HL 32tcharacterized light weight and a large carrying capacity. For loading lifting hook machine is equipped with a special locking device. Both frame parts are locked in an inclined position by means of special locking pawls automatically incoming into engagement. The company has also developed a Rope Tipping body structure equipped with freewheel and special brake for fixing roller removable waste containers.

Hook tipping body construction of the company "Georg" are equipped with rigid or hinge cargo booms. Rope and hook lifting systems allow transporting large removable containers. They have a small high-altitude clearance that provides their high stability. All models of tipping body constructions of this company are characterized by light weight and increased load capacity and stiffness. Special constructions of tilting devices that are developed by this company have a lifting capacity up to 50 tons.

This company also manufactures dumpers with interchangeable bodies that move horizontally with a hook boom. That’s why the precise setting of the containers on starting rollers of machine is possible. This ensures high stability of the machine during lifting of heavy removable containers. Hook boom makes it possible to use shorter lift cylinders of small diameter that eliminate the traverse and typically are located in the front of the truck. Machines that equipped with horizontally moving boom hook are intended for transportation of removable containers of varying lengths. Both models of tippers are equipped with the overall hydraulic control system and accelerated transferring of empty containers’ replacement.
